Lee Hae-chan Urges Prosecution to Conduct Forced Investigation on Shincheonji: "Must Secure List of Followers and Facility Locations"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Lee Hae-chan, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, urged the prosecution to conduct a forced investigation into Shincheonji.
On the morning of the 4th, at the Supreme Council meeting held at the National Assembly, Lee said, "The prosecution must immediately secure an accurate list of believers and facility locations through a forced investigation of Shincheonji Jesus Church as soon as possible."
He pointed out, "There are ongoing suspicions that Shincheonji is hiding the main list of believers and the locations of facilities even at the quarantine sites."
He continued, "I watched an interview with Chairman Lee Man-hee, but I felt no sincerity at all," adding, "Such non-cooperation is causing many difficulties on the front lines of responding to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19)."
He then emphasized, "I request once again. We demand that the prosecution quickly secure an accurate list and facility locations through a forced investigation."
Lee added, "We are not holding the believers responsible. We hope that believers will cooperate with quarantine efforts without fear of exposing their identities."
