Lotte Conducts Open Recruitment for New Employees in the First Half of 2020
Document Submission Starts on the 6th... 169 Positions at 33 Companies
Application Period Extended to 26 Days Due to COVID-19 Spread
[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Lotte Group will begin recruiting new employees for the first half of 2020 starting from the 6th.
The recruiting companies include 33 affiliates in food, tourism, service, distribution, chemical, construction, and manufacturing sectors, with 169 job positions available such as sales management, business support, IT, UX, production management, and research and development.
Considering the spread of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) this year, Lotte is extending the application period to the 26th (compared to 14 days last year). They have decided to delay the L-TAB (Lotte Organization and Job Aptitude Test) and interview stages, which attract many applicants, by about a month. Additionally, they will operate thorough infection prevention processes including pre-disinfection of test sites, installation of thermal cameras and temperature checks, and provision of hand sanitizers.
Applications for the general recruitment process for new employees in the first half will be accepted from the 6th to the 31st through the 'Lotte Recruitment Website.' To provide more opportunities to applicants, Lotte allows 'multiple applications,' enabling candidates to select up to two companies or job positions during the document screening stage. Each application will be reviewed independently, and if both applications qualify, only one will be accepted based on the priority chosen by the applicant in advance.
Subsequently, the L-TAB will be conducted as a group-wide integrated test in mid-May, and interviews will be held by each affiliate from late May to early June. Applicants who fail the L-TAB or interview stages will receive feedback via email. Interview results are expected to be announced in mid-June.
Regarding recruitment promotion, Lotte plans to minimize face-to-face events and focus on online promotion. To this end, they recently launched the official Lotte recruitment YouTube channel called 'L-RecruiTV.' On L-RecruiTV, HR and job managers from the 33 participating companies appear directly to introduce their companies and job roles and answer key questions through various content such as 'Online Job Talks,' providing job seekers with necessary information about the recruitment process, job positions, and corporate culture.
Lotte intends to strengthen its ability-centered recruitment policy, which enhances fairness and objectivity by selecting candidates based on job competency and potential. To this end, they plan to utilize an AI (artificial intelligence) system in the document screening process. The AI system analyzes applicants' self-introductions to help select candidates who fit Lotte's talent profile and are suitable for the respective job. Lotte aims to further improve the fairness and objectivity of document screening by using AI analysis results as reference materials alongside existing evaluation methods.
In addition, Lotte will continue its open recruitment principle that values diversity. Separate from the general recruitment, they will conduct special recruitment for persons with disabilities and officer candidates. The application schedules for each process are the same.
Meanwhile, applications for the summer internship recruitment and the ‘SPEC Tackle’ screening will begin on April 29. Summer interns will gain practical experience through an 8-week internship, and after practical evaluation and a final interview, they can join as A grade new employees in the second half of 2020.
