[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former Emergency Committee Chairman of the Liberty Korea Party, Kim Byung-joon, expressed that he would abide by the decision of the Future United Party's Public Official Recommendation Committee to single-candidate recommend him for Sejong City, despite describing it as "crossing a dangerous area, a death trap."
In a statement released on the 1st, former Emergency Committee Chairman Kim said, "All data indicates it is a dangerous area, but I will follow the committee's decision." On the same day, the United Party's Public Official Recommendation Committee single-candidate recommended Kim for Sejong Special Self-Governing City.
Kim emphasized, "Sejong Special Self-Governing City is a place where my lifelong philosophy of autonomy, decentralization, and balanced regional development is embedded," and added, "I am rather grateful to the committee for recognizing this."

It is not just another new town but the center of Korea's future," and stated, "Sejong is now at a point where redesign is necessary, and I will compete with the future vision of Sejong and Korea to surely return alive."
