Gyeonggi-do Operates 'Dowoomi' to Eradicate Illegal Real Estate Activities
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province will operate the 'Gyeonggi Province Real Estate Transaction Order Assistants' starting from the 2nd to eradicate illegal real estate activities.
The assistants are fixed-term workers who support city and county public officials and will perform auxiliary tasks such as ▲preventing and educating on false real estate listings and price collusion ▲investigating real estate transaction reports ▲investigating planned real estate projects.
Before starting the project, the province conducted a demand survey last year across 31 cities and counties within the province and selected eight areas as project sites: Suwon, Ansan, Hwaseong, Gwangju, Anseong, Osan, Hanam, and Yeoju. This year, a budget of 316 million KRW has been allocated for the project.
In the first half of this year (March to June), the province will deploy 18 assistants who hold certified real estate agent licenses or have graduated from real estate-related departments to the field. In the second half (August to November), 22 assistants will be deployed.
The province will pay the assistants' wages, and the eight cities including Suwon will be responsible for managing the assistants' workforce utilization and attendance.
Kim Joon-tae, Director of the Urban Housing Office of the province, stated, "As this is the first project since 2020, we will closely cooperate with the relevant cities to ensure the project is well established. We will also consider expanding support to more cities and counties and increasing the budget to establish a fair and transparent real estate transaction order and contribute to job creation."
This project is a city and county support initiative to actively address illegal real estate transaction activities under the 'Just Gyeonggi Practicing Fairness' policy, which concretizes the goal of the 7th Gyeonggi Province administration, 'A New Gyeonggi, A Fair World.'
