Gyeonggi Business Center Strengthens 'Video Consultation' Support for COVID-19 Affected Companies
[Asia Economy (Uijeongbu) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province, recognizing the difficulties faced by local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in exploring the Chinese market due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), is conducting export support activities through the 'video consultation service' of the Gyeonggi Business Center (GBC) established locally.
As of the end of last year, exports from local companies to China accounted for 37%, and with the spread of COVID-19, export damages to companies are inevitable. To minimize this, the province announced on the 28th that it has promoted this support measure.
The province provides various export support services in a non-face-to-face and contactless manner through GBCs established in Shanghai, Shenyang, Guangzhou, and Chongqing in China.
Main support projects include ▲ buyer discovery and mediation ▲ one-on-one remote export consultations between companies and buyers ▲ interpretation and translation services ▲ product marketing ▲ customs clearance consulting ▲ provision of market trend information.
In addition to China, the province plans to monitor market conditions in each country and provide support policies for export diversification through 12 GBCs in 9 overseas countries including the United States, India, and ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations).
Kim Gyu-sik, Director of Economic Planning for the province, emphasized, "In the future, besides video consultation services, we will actively support SMEs' export activities by selectively using non-face-to-face and contactless marketing methods utilizing various platforms such as SNS according to overseas market conditions."
