Geumseong Baekjo Donates 30 Million KRW in COVID-19 Relief Funds to Daejeon
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Geumseong Baekjo announced on the 27th that it donated 30 million KRW to support overcoming the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Daejeon through the Korean Red Cross Daejeon-Sejong Branch.
The relief fund delivered on this day will be used to create and distribute emergency relief (emergency food) sets by the Korean Red Cross for self-quarantined individuals who are experiencing difficulties due to the spread of COVID-19.
The emergency relief sets include main and side dishes such as instant rice, instant beef bone soup (sagol gomtang), seaweed soup, and samgyetang. They plan to deliver to about 800 households.
Jung Sung-wook, chairman of Geumseong Baekjo, who joined the Daejeon-Sejong Red Cross Red Cross Honours Club (RCHC) in September last year, said, "I decided to donate to help self-quarantined individuals in the Daejeon area who are struggling due to COVID-19, even if just a little," adding, "I hope this donation will help prevent the spread of infection in the region."

Meanwhile, the Daejeon-Sejong Branch supported emergency relief supplies (21 sets) to Geumnam-myeon and Jeondong-myeon in Sejong City on the 25th to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and support self-quarantine subjects. They also provided hand sanitizers to 350 vulnerable and partnered households.
