Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station Conducts Promotional Activities for Lightweight Partition Walls in Apartment Complexes
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Dongbu Fire Station (Chief Yang Younggyu) urged residents to familiarize themselves with the locations and usage methods of lightweight partitions installed in apartment complexes to enable quick evacuation in case of fire.
Lightweight partitions are emergency evacuation facilities that can be broken through to escape to neighboring units when evacuation through the entrance door is impossible during disasters such as fires.
Therefore, they are made of approximately 9mm thick gypsum board, making them easy to break.
However, in most households, storage cabinets are installed at the locations of lightweight partitions to solve the lack of storage space, making them unusable in emergencies.
To use these spaces as emergency evacuation areas during fires or similar situations, residents should not store items there and must familiarize themselves with the locations and usage methods.
