AmorePacific Suspends Production at Osan Factory for Two Days to Support Quarantine Efforts
[Asia Economy Reporter Yujin Cho] Amorepacific announced on the 26th that it will halt production at its Osan factory for two days as a preemptive measure against the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
Located in Osan, Gyeonggi Province, Amorepacific's Osan factory produces most of the skincare and color cosmetics for its brands such as Sulwhasoo and Laneige.
Amorepacific stated, "We have decided to temporarily suspend production to carry out proactive disinfection measures to prevent COVID-19," adding, "After two days of disinfection, production is scheduled to resume on the 28th."
They further noted, "This production halt may cause a temporary disruption in cosmetics manufacturing." The Osan factory accounted for 58.7% of sales as of the end of 2018.
