First COVID-19 Case Confirmed in Ulsan... Extensive Movement of Confirmed Patient
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] The first confirmed case of COVID-19 occurred in Ulsan on the 22nd. With confirmed cases also reported on the same day in Gangwon and Sejong, where there had previously been none, COVID-19 has now spread to all 17 cities and provinces nationwide. The confirmed patient in Ulsan was found to have traveled to multiple areas including Ulsan, Busan, and Daegu, raising concerns about the possibility of additional infections.
According to Ulsan City, Mr. A, an elementary school teacher residing in Daegu, was finally confirmed positive on the day and was transferred to the negative pressure ward at Ulsan University Hospital for treatment.
Mr. A attended a service at the Shincheonji Daegu Church on the 9th, received treatment at an internal medicine clinic in Ulsan where his father works on the 10th, then returned to his residence in Daegu and stayed there from the 10th to the 15th. From the 15th to the 17th, he traveled from Daegu to his parents' home in Ulsan, toured around Busan, and then returned to Daegu. On the 21st, he arrived at Ulsan Station to visit his parents' home again. After a fever was detected, Mr. A visited the Jung-gu Public Health Center for a rapid test, which came back positive. He was then self-isolating at home and was confirmed positive through a detailed test.
