Candidate Lee Yong-bin demanded and proposed four items last November at a Gwangju City Council press conference: ▲ reflection in the Democratic Party's general election pledge ▲ amendment of the Military Airport Relocation Act ▲ completion of the Ministry of National Defense's national agenda ▲ formation of a consultative body of Gwangju and Jeonnam general election candidates.
He explained, "The Gwangju military airport relocation project is a value of regional coexistence and regional growth between Gwangju and Jeonnam, as well as the biggest issue that changes the economic foundation of both regions and one of the Moon Jae-in administration's 100 national agendas," adding, "The upcoming April 15 general election is a golden opportunity to resolve the relocation issue, and the Democratic Party, which is accompanying the Moon Jae-in administration, must actively take the lead."
He continued, "The military airport relocation inevitably has to implement support projects within the profits from developing the former site through a donation-for-transfer method, making it difficult to promote strong support projects to persuade the surrounding areas and local governments," emphasizing, "If the Military Airport Relocation Act is amended to significantly strengthen national support, it will greatly help solve the relocation issue."

He then said, "Let the local political circles approach the future preparation of Gwangju and Jeonnam with an innovative and responsible attitude," and urged, "During the April 15 general election process, let's ensure the Gwangju military airport relocation issue is reflected as a Democratic Party pledge to lead the win-win development of Gwangju and Jeonnam."
