20s Gang Arrested for Breaking Door with Crowbar and Stealing Valuables Late at Night
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Two men in their 20s who used tools to break locks and steal valuables during late-night hours were caught by the police.
The Gwangju Nambu Police Station announced on the 20th that they have booked A (26) and B (28) without detention on charges of special theft, including breaking locks or doors with tools to steal valuables.
They are accused of stealing a total of approximately 16 million won worth of valuables over 10 incidents from the 11th to the 16th, including breaking the lock of a bill exchanger with tools and stealing 250,000 won in cash at a self-service car wash in Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, around 2:30 a.m. on the 15th.
At a church where the door was unlocked, they broke into the office and stole a tablet PC and other items, and at a restaurant after business hours, they tore off the door and took cash from the cash register.
Investigations revealed that they carried tools in their car and scouted targets during late-night hours when there were few people around.
