Gwangsan Fire Station in Gwangju Recruiting 'Korea 119 Youth Corps'
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Gwangju Gwangsan Fire Station (Chief Moon Gisik) announced on the 17th that it is recruiting the ‘2020 Korea 119 Youth Corps,’ which will lead the establishment of a safety culture in the local community and the next-generation safety culture, until the 31st of next month.
The ‘Korea 119 Youth Corps’ is a youth organization jointly operated by fire stations and schools.
Last year, the Gwangsan Korea 119 Youth Corps had 116 members from four elementary schools in the district participating in various fire safety culture activities.
The recruited students and supervising teachers will engage in activities such as an induction ceremony, formation and operation of the supervising teachers’ council, safety culture exploration and safety education, operation of the 119 fire safety experience camp, and Korea 119 Youth Corps summer and winter camps.
They can also participate in cultural events such as the 119 Fire Safety Children’s Song Contest and the 119 Safety News Competition, where outstanding supervising teachers and members will be awarded at the end of the year.
