Gangbuk-gu Leads Resident Participation in Eco Mileage During Fine Dust Seasonal Management Period
Special Point Rewards During Fine Dust Seasonal Management Period (Dec-Mar), Energy Saving Contest Implemented... Incentives Provided in Various Forms Including Gift Certificates
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Kyum-soo) is implementing policies to encourage the participation of Eco Mileage members to improve air quality during the "Fine Dust Seasonal Management Period" (December to March), when high concentrations of fine dust frequently occur.
The Eco Mileage system is a resident participation program that provides incentives based on the amount of reduced greenhouse gases when households or businesses voluntarily reduce their use of energy such as electricity, city gas, and water.
The district has been awarding mileage worth up to 50,000 KRW to individual members who reduce their energy consumption by 5% or more over a six-month period compared to the same period two years prior.
In addition, during the Fine Dust Seasonal Management Period, a "Special Eco Mileage Point" is introduced, providing an additional 10,000 KRW for those who reduce energy consumption by 20% or more.
This measure aims to reduce heating energy, which is the main cause of winter fine dust.
Furthermore, a "Winter Building (Business Site) Energy Saving Competition" will be held for organizations participating in Eco Mileage. Those who reduce energy consumption by 10% or more compared to the same period two years prior will be evaluated based on their energy saving rate, reduction amount, and efforts, with incentives of up to 10 million KRW provided.
Incentives can be received in the form of traditional market Onnuri gift certificates, mobile cultural gift certificates, etc. They can be used to deduct apartment management fees or converted into cash.
