‘I am ironman, Challenging Ironman Limits Domestically and Internationally’
Player Registration Started from January 31
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yuk Miseok] Gurye-gun, Jeonnam recently signed a contract to extend the international triathlon competition with the WTC (World Triathlon Corporation) and announced on the 13th that it will hold the 2020 International Triathlon (Ironman Gurye Korea) competition on September 6.
The triathlon, which requires extreme endurance and stamina, is a sport where one athlete must complete three events totaling 226 km (swimming 3.8 - cycling 180 - marathon 42.2) within 17 hours.
Starting from January 31, athlete registration began, and preparations such as domestic and international promotion and volunteer recruitment have been initiated early to create a highly complete event.
The participation fee during the early bird promotion period from January 31 to March 16 is $580, and afterward, it is set at $630 and $699 depending on the period. Registration can be done by accessing the official event website (ironman.com/im-gurye) and paying online.
Last year’s event was canceled due to a typhoon for athlete safety, and as compensation, a 40% discount coupon is provided to those who registered on-site for the 2019 event. Related information was sent via notification email to the eligible participants, and registration can be completed through a separate link in the email.
