Lee Jae-myung: "Reports of COVID-19 Deaths in Suwon Are Fake News"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Lee Jae-myung, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, clarified that reports of a COVID-19 confirmed patient dying in Suwon are "fake news."
On the 13th, Lee posted on his Facebook a message titled "COVID-19 confirmed patient death in Suwon? This is not true," where he explained the patient transfer process in detail.
Lee first stated, "The patient was reported at 7:57 a.m. on the 13th with stroke and decreased consciousness. An ambulance arrived at the scene at 8:06 a.m., confirmed the patient was in cardiac arrest, performed CPR, and then transferred the patient to the hospital around 8:43 a.m. The patient was known to have had a stroke previously, and signs of decreased consciousness due to stroke were observed both in the report and at the scene."
He added, "The patient's guardian informed us that the patient had a three-hour visit to Qingdao Airport, China, on January 31, so a COVID-19 test was immediately conducted, and the first test result was negative."
