Hanil Hapsem, 'Hanibon' Nonwoven Fabric Sales Surge
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Eugene Group announced on the 12th that the demand for Hanil Fibers' nonwoven fabric brand 'Hanibon' has increased, resulting in an overall nonwoven fabric sales volume rising by approximately 175% compared to the same period last year.
The increase in nonwoven fabric sales volume was calculated based on data from January 1st to the 10th of this month. Nonwoven fabric is the main raw material for masks, and demand has surged due to the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia).
Hanil Fibers is currently responding to the shortage phenomenon by converting nonwoven fabric used in other industries into mask-grade material as the mask sell-out phenomenon accelerates. Hanil Fibers was acquired by Dongyang in 2007 and was incorporated into Eugene Group along with Dongyang in 2016.
