According to the Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters, at around 9:20 a.m. on the 11th, a staff member discovered a fire in the kitchen on the 2nd floor of a 24-story hotel in Yeongdo-gu, Busan, and reported it to 119.
The fire caused property damage estimated by the fire department at about 1.5 million KRW, burning the interior of the kitchen, and was extinguished within about 20 minutes.
Immediately after the fire broke out, about 200 guests heard the evacuation announcement and urgently evacuated outside the building. During this process, one male hotel employee in his 20s inhaled smoke and was transported to a nearby hospital.
The Busan Fire and Disaster Headquarters issued a Level 1 response, deploying 35 fire trucks and about 100 firefighters to extinguish the flames.

A police official stated, "It is believed that the fire started when sparks from welding during the installation of a fireproof wall in the kitchen spread and ignited a fire. The exact cause of the fire is under investigation."
