Preliminary Candidate Lee Seok-hyung "Promotes Construction of Gwangsan Comprehensive Welfare Town"
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Lee Seok-hyung, preliminary candidate for the National Assembly representing Gwangsan-gap, Gwangju Metropolitan City from the Democratic Party of Korea, announced on the 10th, "I will actively promote the construction of the Gwangsan Comprehensive Welfare Town, a space for emotional empathy and communication across generations."
Preliminary candidate Lee Seok-hyung stated, "Realizing diversity in age groups, gender equality, various cultures, and job sharing is a comprehensive practical task that our generation must solve," and promised, "I will do my utmost to attract the Gwangsan Comprehensive Welfare Town so that it can become a role model of innovative values such as social development and harmony."
He continued, "The elderly population aged 65 and over in Gwangsan-gu is estimated to exceed 80,000 in 10 years, reach about 160,000 in 20 years, and 230,000 in 30 years," adding, "Since we have entered an aging society, rather than responding to policies by period, we must promote future-predictive policies that incorporate the basic values of generational diversity, creativity, and autonomy, and establish a Gwangsan Comprehensive Welfare Town that has no age restrictions and is integrated, large-scale, and modernized."
He also said, "While having independent centers by age and gender such as youth centers, women's centers, and senior centers has value, it excludes the meaning of a one-heart community," and added, "Just as the foundation of harmony and cooperation is unified as one, the welfare town should also embody innovation in solidarity and communication beyond identity, enabling cooperative governance."
