SSG.com Opens Beauty Specialty Store 'Monday Moon'
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] SSG.com is launching a new beauty specialty section called 'Monday Moon' on the 10th.
Through this revamp, SSG.com has organized a specialty section that gathers products by category such as skincare, makeup, hair & body, and men's cosmetics, allowing for easy comparison and analysis. The number of brands handled has increased to 3,000, and the number of products has expanded to about 100,000.
A customer-friendly corner has also been newly established. Within 'Monday Moon,' SSG.com operates 'Real Review,' which collects 3.6 million actual customer reviews, and a 'Trial Zone' where customers can receive free sample products.
This revamp by SSG.com is aimed at responding to the steadily increasing demand for beauty products despite the contraction in consumer sentiment. According to Statistics Korea, last year, online cosmetics transaction volume surpassed 12 trillion won, a 25% increase compared to the previous year. At SSG.com, sales in the beauty category also grew by 25.6% year-on-year as of last year.
SSG.com will also hold a two-week promotional event to celebrate the revamp until the 23rd. On the 10th, the first 40,000 customers will receive two types of 10% discount coupons for beauty products. Discounts apply up to 10,000 won for purchases over 20,000 won, and up to 20,000 won for purchases over 60,000 won. From the 11th to the 16th, the first 40,000 customers each day will be issued 20% point accumulation coupons for six selected brands daily.
Until the 23rd, a ‘Monday Moon’ lucky box event will be held. The prize is a box containing about 15 cosmetic products worth approximately 100,000 won in total. Customers who purchase beauty products worth more than 10,000 won can enter via the mobile app. Through a drawing, a total of 700 winners will be awarded prizes over the two weeks.
