Chinese Government: "We Will Bring Hubei Residents Staying Abroad Back by Charter Flights"
[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Amid growing concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia), the Chinese government deployed charter flights to repatriate 1,500 residents of Hubei Province staying overseas.
According to reports from China Radio International (CRI) and others on the 7th, the Civil Aviation Administration of China, with the cooperation of Chinese embassies abroad following the outbreak of the novel coronavirus, deployed 12 charter flights to bring 1,500 Hubei Province residents staying overseas back to China.
The Civil Aviation Administration stated that it will continue to send charter flights to repatriate Chinese nationals abroad. One charter flight from China Eastern Airlines flew to Singapore on the 5th, boarding 147 Hubei Province residents and returning to Wuhan.
