Honam University Taekwondo Demonstration Team Receives 'Praise' in the United States
Presented Taekgwonmu and Others in Texas Regional Tour Performances
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] The Taekwondo demonstration team of Honam University (President Park Sangcheol) shone brightly in the United States.
According to Honam University on the 5th, at the recently held "4th 2020 Texas Taekwondo Festival and Dallas Area Tour Performance in Texas," invited by the Korean-American Texas Taekwondo Instructors Association, the Honam University Taekwondo demonstration team showcased Taekwondo dance and self-defense techniques, earning praise from Korean residents and local Americans.
The Taekwondo demonstration team, consisting of about 10 students including advisor Professor Kim Hyunghoon (Department of Taekwondo Security Studies), performed at the festival held at Music City Mall Louisville, Texas, USA.
The demonstration team presented various self-defense techniques applicable to daily life, including basic Taekwondo skills such as punching, blocking, and kicking, along with Taekwondo dance, wrist techniques, clothing defense, and close-contact techniques.
The Taekwondo demonstration team plans to share knowledge and experience regarding the operation and educational methods of local Taekwondo dojangs while performing at dojangs and schools in the Dallas area of Texas.

Meanwhile, the Honam University Taekwondo demonstration team also performed Taekwondo dance and other demonstrations at the "3rd Shandong Qingdao Consul General Cup Taekwondo Competition" held last September at Shandong University in Weihai, China. Their skills have been recognized to the extent that they have become a part of experiential programs for European tourists, including those from Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, organized by the Gwangju Tourism Convention Bureau.
