Philip Morris Recognized for Organizational Innovation Excellence... Winner of the '2020 Big Innovation Awards'
[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Saeng-hye] Korea Philip Morris (PMK) announced on the 5th that Philip Morris International (PMI) was selected as the winner in the ‘Organization’ category at the recently announced ‘2020 Big Innovation Awards.’ PMI was honored for its continuous efforts in organizational innovation while pursuing the vision of a ‘smoke-free future’ that replaces conventional cigarettes and provides better alternatives to adult smokers.
The ‘Big Innovation Awards,’ presented by the Business Intelligence Group, recognize organizations, products, and talents that have realized new and innovative ideas in consumers’ lives. Companies worldwide participating in this year’s evaluation submitted their latest innovations and underwent rigorous assessment by a panel of judges composed of leaders and executives from the corporate field.
At the 2020 Big Innovation Awards, global products and companies that positively impacted society and consumers through innovation were awarded alongside PMI, including Albanta Tiles, an interior product that reduces water usage by 80% and electricity consumption by 15% during production while maintaining excellent durability, and BrainBox AI, which reduces building electricity consumption by up to 35% through artificial intelligence.

Philip Morris International has invested more than $6 billion to date in science, research, technology, and manufacturing of non-combustible products sold in 51 markets. Already, 8.8 million adult smokers worldwide have switched from conventional cigarettes to PMI’s heated tobacco products.
