Hubei Province Reports 65 New Deaths and 3,156 New Confirmed Cases in One Day (Update)
[Asia Economy Beijing=Special Correspondent Park Sun-mi] In Hubei Province, China, where the novel coronavirus outbreak originated, 3,156 new confirmed cases and 65 deaths were reported in one day.
On the 5th, the Hubei Provincial Health Commission (Weiguanwei) announced that as of midnight, 3,156 new confirmed cases were added within Hubei Province. Among them, 1,967 cases were from Wuhan City. Additionally, 65 new deaths were reported, with Wuhan City accounting for the highest number at 49.
The cumulative confirmed cases in Hubei Province total 16,678. Currently, 12,627 patients are undergoing treatment in hospitals, of which 1,809 are severe cases and 711 are critically severe cases, indicating that additional deaths are expected to continue.
