Gwangju City Temporarily Suspends Cultural Arts Performances, Exhibitions, and Sports Events
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju Metropolitan City announced on the 4th that it will completely suspend cultural and artistic performances, exhibitions, and events following the confirmation of a novel coronavirus case.
To prevent public confusion amid concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus, the city will temporarily suspend the Gwangju National Gugak Regular Performance, a representative Gwangju brand performance held daily at 5 PM at Gwangju Performance Maru.
Additionally, to raise public awareness and prevent further spread, preventive guidelines and posters have been posted at the Culture and Arts Center, Municipal Art Museum, libraries, and other locations, and hygiene supplies such as hand sanitizers have been provided for use.

Kim Jun-young, Director of the City’s Culture, Tourism, and Sports Office, stated, “Since facilities like the Culture and Arts Center and libraries are multi-use venues, we will adjust the schedules of various ongoing cultural and artistic events, sports events, planned projects, rentals, performances, and exhibitions according to the government’s response level to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus.”
