Recruiting 20 'Youth Network Committee Members' to Participate in Mapo-gu Youth Policy Development
Entering Service for Establishing Basic Youth Policy Plan from March to August... Simultaneous Operation of 'Mapo-gu Youth Network' for Youth Participatory Policy Promotion... Public Recruitment of 20 Mapo-gu Youth Members Aged 19 to 34 in February
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Mapo-gu (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) has embarked on establishing a new basic plan for youth policies with the goal of becoming a ‘Youth Happiness City,’ and in this process, operates the Mapo-gu Youth Network, where young people directly participate in district administration.
The district will promote a project from March to August to establish the basic plan for youth policies in Mapo-gu based on the current status of local youth. This plan will include the future direction, strategies, and projects of Mapo-gu’s youth policies.
The district plans to use this basic plan as a foothold to implement ‘Mapo-style youth projects’ and sequentially introduce youth policies that young people can actually feel.
Along with establishing the basic plan, the district will also operate the Mapo-gu Youth Network from March to promote youth participatory policies that reflect the actual needs of young people as much as possible.
Youth Network youth committee members will monitor district policies and discover new youth policies in areas such as youth rights, skill development, employment and jobs, livelihood stability, and cultural revitalization.
Youth Network committee members will be publicly recruited throughout February. Up to 20 people can apply, and any youth aged 19 to 34 residing in Mapo-gu is eligible to apply.
After the Youth Network committee members’ appointment ceremony and launch event in March, the district plans to expand projects that discover life-centered youth policies reflecting local characteristics, promote youth social participation, and activate exchanges together with young people.
Youth wishing to participate in the Youth Network can download the application form from the public announcement section on the Mapo-gu website (www.mapo.go.kr), fill it out, and submit it via email (wsisqueen@mapo.go.kr) by March 2.
