[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Ju-yeon] Mediana showed a surge of more than double in both operating profit and net profit along with an increase in sales last year.
Mediana, a global specialist company in patient monitoring devices, defibrillators, and body composition analyzers, announced on the 3rd that its consolidated sales for last year reached 48.47364 billion KRW, a 3.5% increase compared to the previous year. Operating profit and net profit for the period were 7.77520 billion KRW and 7.18114 billion KRW, respectively, marking a sharp increase of 123.8% and 121.6% year-on-year.
The company achieved the increase in operating profit and net profit through improvements in internal and external profit structures.
A company official explained, "Profitability was able to continue increasing due to price hikes and exchange rate rises," adding, "Also, the steady internal organizational restructuring to secure efficiency played a key role."
Mediana expects to continue the upward trend in performance going forward. A company representative said, "New product sales are progressing smoothly, including the initial export of body composition analyzers to Vietnam in December last year," and added, "We will strive to maintain continuous sales growth through stable existing businesses such as patient monitoring devices and defibrillators, as well as new product development including body composition analyzers and converged medical devices."
