View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Chinese government has approved the operation of an additional charter flight to evacuate South Korean nationals staying in Wuhan City, Hubei Province, China, the epicenter of the novel coronavirus infection (Wuhan pneumonia). The second charter flight will depart from Gimpo Airport on the evening of the 31st.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the 31st, the Chinese government has authorized a second charter flight to evacuate 350 Korean residents remaining in Wuhan. The Korean Air Boeing B747 charter flight is scheduled to depart from Gimpo Airport at 8:45 PM that day. The first charter flight, which departed on the evening of the 30th, carried 368 South Korean nationals and arrived at Gimpo Airport that morning.
An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in the afternoon, "As a result of continuous consultations with the Chinese government, we have obtained permission for the charter flight," adding, "One charter flight is scheduled to depart for the local area tonight."
It is known that the departure airport was changed from Incheon Airport to Gimpo Airport. The flight number and departure time are the same as the first charter flight. The additional charter flight is expected to carry about 350 people and return to Gimpo Airport in the early morning of the 1st of next month. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' rapid response team will also accompany the flight.

Earlier, the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Wuhan sent an email titled 'Temporary Flight Boarding Information' to Korean residents scheduled to board on the 31st. The consulate advised passengers to arrive at Tianhe Airport tollgate by 9 PM at the latest for airport check-in procedures. Additionally, the consulate is reportedly accepting additional return applications.
