On the 30th, the Incheon District Court Criminal Division 3 (Presiding Judge Byung-sil Jeong) announced that Mr. A, who was indicted on charges of habitual fraud, was sentenced to 8 months in prison.
The court stated the reason for sentencing, saying, "The defendant admitted all the crimes and is remorseful. However, considering that he committed fraud eight times within two months immediately after release and that the damages have not been restored."
Mr. A was indicted on charges of embezzling about 800,000 won in cash and clothing worth about 310,000 won from business owners at a bag store in Jung-gu, Incheon, and other places eight times from September 14 to October 30 of last year.
He impersonated former coach Kim and deceived business owners by saying, "I will order bags in bulk to support middle school students," and "The SK Wyverns team is dining nearby, so please lend me money for the meal."
Kim Seong-gap, a former baseball player who joined the Samsung Lions in 1985 and retired in 1995, is also well known as Yui's father.
