Ministry of the Interior and Safety to Support 107.6 Billion KRW for E-Government Projects This Year
[Asia Economy Reporter Osangdo] The government will provide 107.6 billion KRW in support for 19 e-government support projects this year. These projects include the development of the next-generation resident registration system and an intelligent waste safety management system, with more than 5 billion KRW allocated per project.
According to the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 29th, this year's budget allocates 37.9 billion KRW for the transition of six existing systems, including the next-generation resident registration system, an integrated electronic administration system for overseas Koreans, and the reconstruction of a cloud-based architectural administration system. Additionally, 37.2 billion KRW will be invested in seven projects applying the latest trends, such as the establishment of an intelligent national secretary service.
Furthermore, 16.6 billion KRW will be provided for three common infrastructure projects, including the establishment of a national standard information management system, and 13.3 billion KRW will support three social problem-solving projects, such as the construction of an intelligent waste safety monitoring system.
The total amount has increased by 20.7 billion KRW compared to last year.

The Ministry of the Interior and Safety plans to hold the '2020 E-Government Support Project Briefing' at Post Tower in Jung-gu, Seoul, on the 31st, where it will introduce this year's project directions, details of each task, and procurement systems.
