On the night of the 26th (Korean time) at the Emirates Golf Club in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (par 72, 7,301 yards), Herbert surged with a 4-under-par final round in the European Tour Omega Dubai Desert Classic (total prize money $3.25 million) to tie with Christiaan Bezuidenhout (South Africa) at 9-under-par 279. He then secured the winning birdie on the second hole of the playoff at the 18th hole (par 5). This marked his first European Tour win, earning him a winner's prize of €490,323 (approximately 635 million KRW).
Starting from a tie for 13th place, six strokes behind, Herbert carded six birdies and two bogeys. After making three birdies and two bogeys over 12 holes for a 1-under-par, he changed momentum with a birdie on the 13th hole (par 5), and showed impressive stamina with consecutive birdies on the 17th and 18th holes. On the first playoff hole resumed at the 18th, he faced a crisis when his second shot landed in the water, but he demonstrated resilience by placing his fourth shot close to the hole and making a dramatic par.
On the second playoff hole, he easily reached the green in two shots and secured the victory with two putts. Herbert turned professional in 2015 and has mainly competed on the Australian circuit. This victory came in his 50th European Tour start. He is currently ranked 223rd in the world. Calling it "the best moment of my life," Herbert said, "I will have a celebration party before going back to Australia," and added, "I want to share this glory with the people who have suffered greatly from the wildfires."

Bezuidenhout, who had been cruising with five birdies, regrettably made a bogey on the 18th hole, allowing the playoff.
