YouTuber Attempted Extreme Act During Broadcast in Incheon Due to Economic Hardship
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Ju-hyung] In Incheon, a YouTuber attempted an extreme act during a live broadcast and was rescued by police and fire authorities who responded to the report.
According to the Michuhol Police Station in Incheon on the 26th, at around 8:40 PM on the 25th, a report was received by 119 that a man estimated to be in his 20s was attempting an extreme act using flammable materials.
The reporter was identified as a viewer watching the man's YouTube broadcast from Cheonan.
Police who responded to the report, along with fire authorities, rescued the YouTuber, Mr. A, at an apartment located in Michuhol-gu.
Mr. A stated to the police that he attempted the extreme act due to financial difficulties. The police reportedly received a promise from Mr. A not to attempt such an act again and handed him over to an acquaintance.
