Jeonnam Police Launch Traffic Safety Campaign During Lunar New Year Holiday
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Jeonnam Provincial Police Agency announced that on the 23rd at around 3 p.m., they conducted a traffic safety campaign targeting travelers returning to their hometowns at the Mokpo TG on the Seohaean Expressway to prevent traffic accidents during the Lunar New Year holiday.
About 30 people attended the event, including Kim Namhyun, Chief of Jeonnam Police Agency, representatives from Korea Expressway Corporation Hampyeong Branch, Muan County, the Model Drivers Association, and the Green Mothers' Association.
This campaign was organized to raise traffic safety awareness among drivers using the expressway during the holiday period when traffic volume sharply increases, aiming to create a safe expressway free of traffic accidents.
Participants in the campaign urged drivers returning to their hometowns to wear seat belts in all seats and prevent drowsy driving, while distributing promotional items such as wet tissues and leaflets for focused publicity.
Earlier, Chief Kim Namhyun visited the Yeokjeon Police Substation, which is responsible for key transportation hubs such as Mokpo Station and Mokpo Coastal Passenger Terminal, where various incidents and accidents frequently occur, reflecting high security demands. He held a meeting with on-site workers to encourage them and listen to their difficulties.
