Galaxy Watch sequel in development... code name is 'Noblesse'
Type 2 Under Development... Expected to be Unveiled at August Event
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] The codename of Samsung Electronics' new smartwatch under development has been revealed. It is a product following the 'Galaxy Watch' and hints at a classic design.
According to industry sources on the 21st (local time), Samsung Electronics is preparing a new device with the model name SM-R840 as the successor to the Galaxy Watch. The codename is 'Noblesse.'
Samsung Electronics unveiled the 'Galaxy Watch,' the successor to the Gear S3, alongside the Galaxy Note9 in August 2018, and at the February 2019 Unpacked event, it introduced the wearable lineup including the 'Galaxy Watch Active' and the sports band 'Galaxy Fit' together with the Galaxy S10. The product currently under development is expected to be the successor to the Galaxy Watch, opting for a classic design instead of a sporty one.
The smartwatch with the codename Noblesse is expected to be released in two versions. The previous Galaxy Watch was released in 42mm and 46mm models, each available in Bluetooth and cellular (LTE) versions.
