Gwangjin-gu Launches Support and Promotion for Individual Local Income Tax Payment Convenience
Installation of 'Report Center' in May at District Office Safety Management Building 3rd Floor Auditorium Enables Simultaneous Filing of Income Tax and Local Income Tax
[Asia Economy Reporter Jong-il Park] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) has been actively supporting taxpayer convenience and promoting awareness to minimize inconvenience to taxpayers following the transition of individual local income tax reporting to local governments starting this year.
Previously, individual local income tax was reported simultaneously with national income tax at the tax office, but from this year, income tax must be reported and paid separately at the tax office, and individual local income tax must be reported and paid to the respective local government.
To minimize inconvenience to taxpayers caused by this change, after completing income tax reporting on Hometax, users are linked to Wetax to easily report individual local income tax without separate input.
Additionally, to avoid the inconvenience of taxpayers who visit Seongdong Tax Office to report income tax having to visit the district office again, a local income tax reporting and reception desk has been installed at Seongdong Tax Office so that individual local income tax reporting can be processed simultaneously when reporting income tax.
Along with this, for those eligible for the income tax ‘All-Fill Reporting’, a pre-mailed individual local income tax ‘All-Fill Reporting and Payment Form’ including the tax amount is sent in advance, so that payment is recognized as reporting without any separate action by the taxpayer.
Also, from January 1 of this year, the reporting deadline for capital gains local income tax has been extended by two months, and for comprehensive income local income tax, the reporting deadline is temporarily extended by one month for two years, exempting reporting penalties.
During the comprehensive income tax reporting period in May, the district will operate a ‘Reporting Center’ on the 3rd floor auditorium of the Safety Management Building at Gwangjin District Office to enable simultaneous reporting of income tax and individual local income tax.
