Yeonggwang-gun Expands Newborn Childcare Support Starting This Year
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeon Seong] Yeonggwang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim Jun-seong) announced on the 20th that starting this year, it will significantly expand support for newborn childcare expenses from birth to create a happy city for residents and improve quality of life.
The county will significantly increase newborn childcare expenses from this year to 5 million KRW for the first child, 12 million KRW for the second child, 30 million KRW for the third to fifth children, and 35 million KRW for the sixth child and beyond.
The eligibility for newborn childcare support in the county requires that the birth be registered in the county, and as of the birth date, either the father or mother must be registered as a resident in the county, and the newborn eligible for support must be registered as a member of the same household.
In addition, the county provides marriage encouragement money of 5 million KRW, childbirth congratulatory gifts worth about 300,000 KRW, transportation cards worth 300,000 KRW for pregnant women, and free ultrasound examination coupons for pregnant women to create a childbirth-friendly environment by strengthening support for marriage, pregnancy, childbirth, childcare, and youth according to local conditions.
It is also actively promoting various customized policies such as supporting out-of-pocket expenses for infertility treatment for infertile couples, supporting oriental medicine infertility treatment, commemorative tree planting for newborns, operating toy libraries, and supporting interest on housing purchase and lease loans for newlyweds and families with multiple children.
