SK Choi Tae-won Couple's '1 Trillion Won Divorce Lawsuit' Moves to Family Court Conciliation Division
[Asia Economy Reporter Kang Nahum] The divorce lawsuit between Chey Tae-won, chairman of SK Group, and Noh So-young, director of Art Center Nabi, will be handled by the Family Court's conciliation division.
According to the court on the 16th, the Seoul Family Court recently transferred the divorce case of Chairman Chey and his wife, which had been handled by Family Division 3 Judge Na Kyung, to Family Division 2 (Chief Judge Jeon Yeon-sook). This was due to Director Noh recently expressing her willingness to agree to the divorce and filing a counterclaim demanding property division.
In the divorce lawsuit filed by Chairman Chey, Director Noh had opposed it, but on December 4th last year, she changed her position and filed a counterclaim.
As a condition for the divorce, Director Noh demanded payment of 300 million won in alimony and the division of 42.29% of SK Inc. shares held by Chairman Chey. The amount exceeds 1 trillion won. When the claim amount in a divorce lawsuit exceeds 200 million won, the case is handled by the conciliation division.
