Sinan-gun Prepares 'Special Transport Measures' for Island Residents During Lunar New Year Holiday
Running Across Cheonsadaegyo Bridge for a Convenient and Fast, Enjoyable Visit to Hometown
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] Jeonnam Sinan-gun announced on the 16th that it is preparing a comfortable and fast trip home by establishing a customized transportation system for the convenience of holiday travelers through the Cheonsa Bridge during the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday period.
Although passenger demand has decreased due to improved accessibility one year after the opening of Cheonsa Bridge, it is expected that between 15,000 and 18,000 vehicles will use the Cheonsa Bridge daily during this holiday period, thanks to nighttime ferry operations and reduced ferry travel times.
The county has designated the period from the 23rd to the 27th as a special transportation period for the Lunar New Year holiday and plans to organize work shifts centered around major ferry terminals to provide convenience for returning travelers, including vehicle guidance.
For ferries, ▲ for the Bigeum and Dochodo directions, passengers visiting their hometowns via Amtae Namgang Ferry Terminal ▲ for the Haewi and Jangsan directions, via Anjwa Bokho Ferry Terminal, the number of ferry operations will be increased to reduce waiting times for boarding, and continuous consultations with ferry companies are underway to ensure a comfortable and fast trip home for holiday travelers.
Public transportation will also increase convenience for users by adding more public buses, operating ▲ 20 times daily between Amtae and Mokpo Bus Terminal ▲ 6 times daily intercity buses between Amtae and Gwangju ▲ 2 times daily express buses between Amtae and Seoul, striving to provide transportation convenience for public transport users, including those returning after the holidays.
