[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Ildong Pharmaceutical announced on the 16th that it was included in the top group in the SDGBI index compiled and published by the UN Support SDGs Association, a UN special consultative status organization.
This index is a management analysis index based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), calculated based on 12 items in 4 areas?social, environmental, economic, and institutional?with 48 indicators, focusing on companies engaged in management activities that align with sustainable development. It is a global evaluation index officially adopted as a statement at the UN High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development and recognized as an exemplary case by the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. It serves as a credible measure related to sustainability, environmental and social responsibility, and governance.
In its fourth year of publication, this year’s analysis covered 1,000 domestic and international companies, with 176 domestic companies included in the SDGBI group. Ildong Pharmaceutical was the only domestic pharmaceutical company included in the top group. Following its inclusion in the leading group last year, it received an even better evaluation this year. The company explained, "We were recognized for the company and management’s commitment, continuous research and development for human health and disease eradication, distribution of high-quality pharmaceuticals, efforts to address environmental issues such as climate change, sustainable energy management, and pursuit of innovation in the bio sector."
