The opening ceremony was attended by Kim Kyung-soo, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, Kim Ji-soo, Chairman of the Provincial Council, Jo Jeong-kwon, Acting Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Corporation, and Lee Young-seok, Director of the Gyeongnam Regional Small and Medium Business Administration.
The Smart Factory Learning Center is a space where trainees can experience smart factories by manufacturing actual products using learning production facilities applied with 4th Industrial Revolution technologies.
Starting with the Smart Factory Learning Center at the Ansan Training Center of the Small and Medium Business Corporation in 2017, the Changwon Smart Factory Learning Center, which opened following Jeonju City, Jeonbuk on the 14th, is equipped with drone manufacturing facilities, practical lecture rooms, and a data center.
In particular, the drone manufacturing facilities allow trainees to practice the entire drone production process, from parts manufacturing using 3D printing, assembly, functional inspection, to shipment of finished products.
The Smart Factory Learning Center features a remote monitoring and diagnostic system based on 5G communication and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, enabling real-time monitoring of all situations occurring during the manufacturing process from anywhere.
Flexible production of multiple varieties is realized through made-to-order production based on customer requests, and the data center collects, stores, and analyzes production data.
The Small and Medium Business Corporation plans to take the lead in fostering smart manufacturing professionals and enhancing the competitiveness of the manufacturing industry in the Gyeongnam region to revitalize the local economy through the Changwon Smart Factory Learning Center.
