Elementary Student Killed by Excavator in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul
On the 14th, an elementary school student was fatally struck by an excavator on a road in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul.
According to the Yangcheon Police Station and fire authorities on the 15th, the excavator driver, Mr. A, hit the elementary school student, Ms. B, while driving on a road in Sinwol-dong, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, around 2 p.m. the previous day.
Ms. B was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but passed away.
Mr. A reportedly stated, "I caused the accident because I did not see the student while entering the gas station to refuel."
It was confirmed that Mr. A was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.

The police said they are investigating the exact cause of the accident and plan to request an arrest warrant for Mr. A on charges of violating the Special Act on the Treatment of Traffic Accidents.
