Geng Shuang, spokesperson for the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, emphasized on the 15th during a regular briefing regarding President Moon Jae-in's remarks on the importance of China's role in resolving the North Korean nuclear issue, stating, "China is making efforts to safeguard peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and to realize denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula."
He continued, "We will strive to maintain the dialogue phase on the Korean Peninsula by strengthening communication and cooperation with various countries, including South Korea, and promote a political solution to the Korean Peninsula issue."
