Han Kwang-hyup, Professor at Yonsei University College of Medicine, Appointed as President of Korea Health Industry Development Institute
[Asia Economy Reporter Cho Hyun-ui] Professor Han Kwang-hyup of Yonsei University College of Medicine has been appointed as the new president of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute.
The Ministry of Health and Welfare announced on the 15th that Professor Han was appointed as the 5th president of the Korea Health Industry Development Institute. Born in 1954, the new president Han has served as a professor of internal medicine at Yonsei University College of Medicine, chairman of the Korean Association for the Study of the Liver, the inaugural president of the Asia-Pacific Primary Liver Cancer Expert (APPLE), and was the first Korean to serve as president of the International Association for the Study of the Liver (IASL). His term is three years, until January 14, 2023.

An official from the Ministry of Health and Welfare said, "President Han, a world-renowned authority in the field of liver diseases, is expected to play an active role in health technology assessment such as new medical technologies and evidence-based research and development at the Korea Health Industry Development Institute, based on his clinical experience, research, and expertise in medical practice."
