Naju-si 'Green School·Office' Pilot Operation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Han-hyuk] Naju City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kang In-gyu) announced on the 15th that it will pilot the ‘Green School and Office Creation Project,’ which creates a pleasant living environment using air-purifying plants.
Accordingly, the city is recruiting one public institution and two elementary, middle, and high schools within the jurisdiction that wish to participate in the ‘Green School and Office Creation Project,’ a national government-supported project by the Rural Development Administration, until the 11th of next month.
The Green School and Office project uses air-purifying plants, which are excellent at improving fine dust and air quality, covering 2% of the classroom and office space area to create indoor green spaces such as ▲healthcare plants ▲green partitions ▲bio walls.
By arranging green air-purifying plants in various forms in bleak and stuffy office spaces, it is expected to help improve indoor air quality as well as enhance workers’ productivity and relieve stress through visual effects.
In addition, combined with horticultural activity programs for school students, it plans to promote emotional stability by relieving tension and stress related to studies.
The city will invest 40 million KRW (50% national funding, 50% city funding), providing 10 million KRW per school and 20 million KRW per office.
Using advanced ICT technologies such as fine dust sensors, the actual effects of using air-purifying plants will be measured, and efforts will continue to expand indoor green infrastructure.
