Dongkuk Steel, Supporting Local Residents' Livelihoods for 27 Years
[Asia Economy Reporter Park So-yeon] Dongkuk Steel is engaging in sharing activities with local residents near its business sites in collaboration with the Songwon Cultural Foundation ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.
According to industry sources on the 14th, Dongkuk Steel invited 80 local residents from the Songhyeon-dong and Hwasu-dong areas to its Incheon plant to share a meal and deliver living support funds and holiday gifts.
Following the Dangjin plant, Dongkuk Steel plans to invite local residents to its Busan plant on the 15th and Dangjin plant on the 17th, distributing a total of 37.5 million KRW in living support funds to 150 people.
On the same day, Dongkuk Steel’s Incheon plant and the Songwon Cultural Foundation also held a 'Rice Sharing Ceremony,' delivering 240 bags of rice to six locations including two local children’s centers, one free meal service center, and three senior citizen centers, adding deeper meaning to their sharing efforts.

Meanwhile, Dongkuk Steel’s 'Living Support Fund Delivery' event began in 1994 and has continued for 27 years, supporting approximately 7,650 people with about 1.94 billion KRW to date.
