"Experience English Fairy Tales Vividly with AR"… Launch of 'U+ Aideul Saengsaeng Doseogwan'
LGU+ Launches App Implementing Educational Content with AR on the 17th
Partners with Publishers to Create 110 English Books in AR
[Asia Economy Reporter Han Jinju] LG Uplus will launch an educational application called 'U+ Aideul Saengsaeng Doseogwan' on the 17th, which vividly implements educational content such as fairy tales and science specialized for children using augmented reality (AR).
U+ Aideul Saengsaeng Doseogwan has partnered with 24 globally renowned children's book publishers including 'DK', 'Penguin Random House', and 'Oxford' to exclusively provide 110 English books produced in 3D AR.
LG Uplus introduced a specialized service using AR to help children who do not enjoy reading start without burden. Natural observation and science book content, which are difficult to explain to children with traditional picture books, can be enjoyed realistically as 3D pop-up books. The plan is to expand the 3D AR content of U+ Aideul Saengsaeng Doseogwan by 10 to 15 books every month, increasing to 280 titles within the year.
Children aged 5 to 9, who are beginning to learn English seriously, can select books according to their level. When an unknown English word appears while reading, it can be immediately checked with the dictionary function within the app. Users can also enjoy eight types of games linked to the book content, such as arranging the spelling order of words in the book, drawing the main character, and memory games that help improve memory.
The monthly service fee is 5,500 KRW (including VAT). It is available on Android-based LTE and 5G smartphones, and will be available on iPhones starting in May. From the 17th, users can subscribe at LG Uplus stores, the website (U+Shop), and customer centers, and download the app from Google Play Store and One Store.
