It is important to note that the dates differ by district.
According to the city, garbage disposal is prohibited in all autonomous districts on Lunar New Year's Day, the 25th. On the 24th, the day before Lunar New Year, garbage collection will not take place in 24 autonomous districts except for Dongjak-gu. On the 26th, garbage disposal is allowed in Jongno, Seongdong, Dongdaemun, Jungnang, Seongbuk, Gangbuk, Dobong, Eunpyeong, Yangcheon, Gangseo, Guro, Geumcheon, Yeongdeungpo, Gwanak, Songpa, and Gangdong-gu, excluding 9 other districts. On Monday the 27th, garbage will be collected in 24 autonomous districts except for Dongjak-gu.
During the Lunar New Year holiday, the Seoul Metropolitan Government and autonomous districts will operate a total of 26 cleaning situation rooms. A total of 488 personnel from the cleaning patrol task force will promptly handle complaints and inconveniences related to cleaning. Additionally, 12,176 sanitation workers from the autonomous districts will conduct special duty to clean major streets and address complaints.

Immediately after the holiday, each autonomous district will mobilize all cleaning personnel and equipment to collectively collect and dispose of the accumulated garbage during the holiday period. Kwon Seon-jo, Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government's Living Environment Division, urged, "Please adhere to the designated garbage disposal dates and times for each autonomous district."
