Three Youth-Only Spaces 'Cheongsonyeon Ajiteu' Open in Nowon-gu
Sanggye 3.4-dong (Jan 15), Sangsang Irum Center (Jan 17), Nowon Child Welfare Center (Jan 28) Open 'Youth Hangouts'... Collecting Youth Opinions, 150 Million KRW City Budget Spent to Create Open Kitchens, Dance Rooms, Study Spaces... Youth Plan and Operate Programs for Rest, Play, and Creative Activities Themselves
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Nowon-gu (Mayor Oh Seung-rok) will open three 'Youth Agit' spaces this month, where local youth can independently operate and plan play and cultural spaces by utilizing idle spaces in the area.
The 'Youth Agit' spaces, created through the city's youth agit public contest project with three locations selected (50 million KRW per location), will be established at ▲Sanggye 3.4-dong (opening at 5 PM on the 15th) ▲Sangsang Irum Center (opening at 5 PM on the 17th) ▲Nowon Child Welfare Center (opening at 5 PM on the 28th).
First, the 'Agit' located on the 3rd floor of the Sanggye 3.4-dong Community Center (895 Deokneung-ro, Nowon-gu) is 110.97㎡ in size and is designed as a creative activity space, kitchen space, and relaxation area.
In particular, a terrace space was created to provide a camping atmosphere so that youth can freely relax and heal.
The second 'Agit' opening at the Sangsang Irum Center (502 Nohae-ro, Nowon-gu) on the 4th floor was designed to allow youth to express their talents through singing and dance performances, with a youth stage performance hall, an open kitchen where friends can cook together, and a study space for comfortable rest and study. The size is 92.96㎡.
Lastly, the 'Agit' opening on the 2nd floor of the Nowon Child Welfare Center (311 Nowon-ro, Nowon-gu) is 115.43㎡ in size and includes a pocket room where youth can comfortably rest, read books, and lie down, a dance room for youth to dance freely, a powder room (dressing table) where female students can apply makeup and decorate themselves, as well as a karaoke room and various game spaces.
The reason the district created these youth agits is the need for rest spaces where youth can feel mental stability from stress related to studies and career paths, and the necessity of youth-exclusive spaces to express their talents.
Going forward, the district plans to form Youth Agit Operation Committees (tentative name) at each facility, enabling youth to independently plan and operate programs, and will assist in maximizing youth autonomy.

During this project, the district focused on listening to and reflecting the opinions of the youth users. To this end, in September and October of last year, opinions were gathered from local youth planning groups and youth using the facilities.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu, said, "The approximately 100,000 youth of Nowon-gu are the future leaders of Nowon," and added, "The district will actively support youth so that they can spend a healthy and bright adolescence as the main actors of our society."
