Woorinet, "Expecting Improved Performance of Wireless Communication Modules for Security"
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Woorinet announced on the 10th that it expects related business sales to improve centered on the security device wireless communication equipment 'WD-N502SA,' which it independently developed applying the international standard technology 'CAT.M1.'
WD-N502SA is a connector coupling method model developed in-house. It is a product developed targeting security devices for wireless communication, where various data collected from the main security solution device is transmitted to the security control center via the LTE network. The CAT.M1 applied to WD-N502SA is an international standard technology optimized for the Internet of Things (IoT) network, with improvements in battery life and data transmission efficiency compared to existing technologies.
In existing IoT networks, data transmission and reception were possible, but the transmission speed was low, making it difficult to implement VoLTE (a method of carrying voice in data packets). Additionally, to provide voice functionality, a separate LTE communication voice modem had to be installed, which was insufficient in terms of battery efficiency and cost.
Woorinet achieved sales of 17.8 billion KRW in the third quarter of last year through growth in optical communication equipment and OLED material sales. Operating profit successfully turned positive compared to the previous quarter, solidifying the recovery trend. The yield of the Packet Optical Transport Network (POTN) equipment supplied to SK Broadband is stabilizing, and profitability is expected to improve further.
