Prosecutors Indict E-World CEO and Others Over Part-Time Worker’s Leg Amputation Accident
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Ju Cheol-in] On the 9th, the Daegu Western District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Lee Yong-il) indicted the CEO of Daegu E-World, Mr. A, without detention on charges of causing serious injury to a part-time worker due to improper safety management (negligent injury at work and violation of the Industrial Safety and Health Act).
The prosecution also indicted three E-World employees, including team leaders, and the E-World corporation itself without detention for failing to properly provide safety education, management, and supervision of the part-time workers.
The police dismissed charges against the remaining three E-World employees who were referred on charges of negligent injury at work.
At E-World last August, an accident occurred where a part-time worker's leg got caught between a roller coaster-type ride train and the rail, resulting in an amputation about 10 cm below the knee.
