Who is Jeong Yeo-jin from 'Sugarman 3'? Over 3,000 Songs Including CM Songs and Cartoon OSTs Produced
[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Lim Juhyung] Singer Jung Yeo-jin appeared on the JTBC variety show 'To You Project - Sugarman 3' (Sugarman 3).
Jung Yeo-jin performed a duet of 'Appa-ui Malssum' (Father's Words) with actor Choi Bul-am, and is known to have sung over 3,000 songs including various movie OSTs, commercial theme songs, and animation OSTs.
On the broadcast of JTBC's 'Sugarman 3' on the 3rd, Choi Bul-am appeared as a Sugarsong informant. On that day, Choi Bul-am explained, "Although it is very old, it is a song that warms the heart when you listen to it," and added, "I hope everyone listens to it."
He also added, "I am curious about how Sugarman has changed over the long years."
Then, the studio revealed footage of young Jung Yeo-jin singing the song 'Appa-ui Malssum' and Choi Bul-am in his younger days. Following that, the adult Jung Yeo-jin appeared, and after 39 years, reunited with Choi Bul-am to passionately sing 'Appa-ui Malssum' together.
After finishing the stage, Choi Bul-am said, "Yeo-jin has grown this much," and expressed his delight, saying, "You have truly become an adult." Jung Yeo-jin replied, "I became an adult a long time ago."
She also shared her feelings, saying, "When I was young, I sang it without any thoughts, but meeting again as an adult is touching."
Regarding the reason for singing 'Appa-ui Malssum' together with Choi Bul-am, she explained, "My father, who was a composer, arranged this song," and added, "I wanted to sing it with my father, but thinking it would be difficult commercially, I invited Mr. Choi Bul-am, who is like a national father."
Meanwhile, JTBC's 'Sugarman 3' is a variety program that searches for singers who once dominated a generation in the Korean music scene but have since disappeared.
